The Master of Information Technology (MIT) at Miva Open University is a 3 semester professional master programme designed to equip students with advanced technical and leadership skills.
The programme runs for a minimum of 3 semesters and a maximum of 6 semesters (24 months).
Yes. The MIT programme offers four specialisation tracks: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Information Management Systems.
Students must complete 54 credit units to graduate.
The maiden cohort resumes in September 2025. However, application for the programme is now ongoing.
To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related fields with at least a 2.5 CGPA on a 5.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Have a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0.
- Possess at least two years of relevant work experience (those with lower GPAs may need additional experience).
Yes, at least two years of relevant post-bachelor’s degree work experience is required. Candidates with lower GPAs may need additional years of experience
The programme consists of three semesters:
- First Semester: Foundational courses
- Second Semester: Advanced IT topics
- Third Semester: Specialisation & Master’s Project
The MIT tuition fee is ₦225,000$285 per semester and ₦675,000$850 for the complete programme. Miva Open University is offering an early bird discount, at a tuition rate of ₦540,000 available for a limited time.
Examinations are administered online, allowing you the convenience of taking them from your preferred location.
International applicants must meet the same academic and work experience criteria as domestic candidates. They may also be required to provide proof of English proficiency if English is not their first language.
